Before 2020 Kent Cider Co. had exclusively sold to pubs, bars and restaurants. As a result, identifying who their perfect online customer was and what their needs were was crucial, as it would inform all of the design and development decisions.

Through our Discovery stage, we uncovered the following:

Client - Kent Cider Co. are a dedicated team of real cider makers, produced using apples sourced in and around their hometown of Faversham, Kent.

Brief - The brief was to decrease the reliance on offline sales and increase online sales through a direct-to-consumer, e-commerce website.

Challenges - No current e-commerce functionality in the existing site, compounded by a global pandemic closing pubs and restaurants.

NEW WEBSITE STRUCTURE

Determining the new user funnels and simple navigation without impacting the brand guidelines. A more traditional e-commerce layout was adopted to help customers familiarise themselves quickly and know instinctively how to use the site.

BUILD A CASE

New functionality was introduced to improve the customer experience, allowing customers to ‘build a case’ of their own tastes. This added personalisation was technically very challenging but has proved incredibly popular with customers.
