"Having never worked in-house or within an agency I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when undertaking my Internship with FINALLY.
As part of a Public Relations module within my degree at Canterbury Christ Church I needed to go out into the Business World and find myself an internship. I contacted FINALLY as they looked like a cool agency to learn from. I didn’t know a lot about graphic design or anything to do with web formatting but they had a Digital Marketing department and that was right up my street.
What I wasn’t expecting was to be completely immersed within the business itself. Tasked with my own brief and project I took on the business as my own client. Conducting interviews with all members of the team: an exercise that FINALLY always conduct with their clients, I set on my way to find out as much information as possible in order to review FINALLY as a business. My results concluded that the team here really enjoy working together, they all feel like a little ‘FINALLY Family’ and although they have a range of skills between them, they all work harmoniously for the client.
When FINALLY take on a client it’s almost like an adoption, in order to get to the heart of the problem they find out all the relevant information and aim to remove the gap between what’s currently being presented to the client’s customers and what they tell FINALLY during their series of interviews.
Within the agency there are subgroups: graphic design, web development and marketing (both digital and non-digital). My internship is with the marketing department, looking at social following and how this can be improved. I compiled my research into a presentation and gave this the following week, as if I was the agency.
The FINALLY team are always on hand to answer queries, their approachable and friendly nature makes working here enjoyable. My university will be happy to know I’m being pushed in the right direction and I’m not miserably doing the menial cliché tasks. I wanted to gain industry experience and learn a little more about working within a team of professionals, so far so good!"
